Shortlisted at the 2026 Fish & Chip Awards
We’re delighted to share that The Chip Shed has been shortlisted in three categories at the 2026 English Fish & Chip Awards.
The nominations are:
Best Dine-in Fish and Chips – The Chip Shed Cheltenham
Best Menu – The Chip Shed Cheltenham
Best Multi-Site Operator – The Chip Shed Group
It’s a lovely moment for the whole team, and especially for our Cheltenham shop, which has been recognised in two categories. Cheltenham has always been a place where we’ve tried to create something a little more than a traditional fish and chip shop — a warm, relaxed dine-in experience, a carefully thought-out menu, and proper fish and chips cooked with care.
Being shortlisted for Best Menu means a lot to us. Our menu is built around the classics people love, while also giving customers more choice, from traditional fish and chips to burgers, scampi, vegetarian options, loaded chips and seasonal specials. We want our food to feel familiar, generous and comforting, but still fresh, exciting and full of thought.
The Best Dine-in Fish and Chips nomination is also a huge credit to the Cheltenham team. Dine-in service is about more than the food on the plate. It’s about welcome, pace, atmosphere, attention to detail and making people feel looked after from the moment they arrive.
We’re also incredibly proud that The Chip Shed Group has been shortlisted for Best Multi-Site Operator. Running several shops comes with plenty of challenges, but the aim is always the same: to serve great fish and chips with consistency, care and pride across every site.
This recognition is down to the hard work of our teams across Cheltenham, Bourton-on-the-Water, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. From the people preparing food behind the scenes to those welcoming customers at the counter and looking after tables, every part of the team has played a role.
A huge thank you also goes to our customers. Whether you visit us every week, pop in during a day out, leave us a kind review, or recommend us to friends and family, your support means the world to us.
We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the awards final, but for now we’re simply very proud to be shortlisted alongside so many brilliant businesses in the fish and chip industry.
